Hull Damage Evaluation Based on Quantification Theory

Classed ships are repaired according to the degree of damage after class serrvey. Then the ship conditions inclusive of dammage are described in the survey report in detail. However it is difficult to judge objectively the soundness of the ships from the reports as it is because of a great number of different conditions. So in this paper the damage data of hull stuctures trom survey reports have been studied statisically. And it is shown that the soundness of ships can be evaluated quantitatively by the application of quantification theory and multicriteria analysis to the data.
