In the present study, we aimed to investigate the cell response to cell-adhesive protein immobilized titanium using tresyl chloride-activation technique. Tresyl chloride was liquid, and titanium was completely covered with tresyl chloride. After the reaction with tresyl chloride, fibronectin or RGD peptide was immobiled onto titanium surface. Cell attachment and gene expression of MC3T3-E1 cells using GeneChip was investigated. Cells attached on fibronection or RGD peptide titanium at a higher rate than untreated titanium, and gene expression profiles were altered. Expression levels of bone sialoprotein or osteomodulin was enhanced.
