The purpose of this study was to examine the evaluation function that was combined skin strain and joint power during motion. We captured sprint motion and simulated skin strain. We also calculated joint power during sprint motion and evaluation function that means whether skin strain contributes or encumbers to the motion. Results showed that more stretchy fabric should be used at buttock not to encumber the motion. We designed new short tights using these data and compared the clothing pressure between new tights and comparative tights. The clothing pressure of new tights was lower than the comparative tights, and it shows the fact that new tights are easy to move. This suggests that this evaluation function is useful for designing sportswear.
