抄録
While continuous high load operation in a diesel engine fueled with neat non-esterified vegetable oil is possible, dogging of the injector nozzle holes is a serious practical problem. However, in this research, no nozzle dogging was observed with a 50% blend of vegetable oil and ordinary diesel fuel The exhaust gas emissions and engine performance with the 50% vegetable oil and diesel fuel blend are comparable to operation with neat ordinary diesel fuel while THC emissions with the blend fuel increase over a wide load range. When 50% used vegetable oil is blended with diesel fuel there is slight smoke emission even at light load, but other emissions and thermal efficiency are the same level as with new vegetable oil and diesel fuel blend.
