Abstract

In this paper, it aims at the construction of the system that can quantitatively judge the walking ability. The experiment was conducted for the elderly who are paralytic and non-paralytic. Measurement items were dynamic characteristics and the EMG of the walking and the lower limbs training in a seated position. And physical therapists graded the walking ability of subjects. As a result, we derived equations from parameters related to the walking ability. Accuracies of equations were a little good. The result showed that the possibility that the walking ability is able to be judged quantitatively. In addition, the possibility to be able to use for the quantitative evaluation of the secular change of the walking ability was shown. And it was understood that muscle activity of the switch of the contraction and the laxity is important for subjects from EMG analyses.
