抄録

Heat-resistance experiments of SiC-based materials are performed in high-temperature micro-air plasma-jets at an atmospheric pressure. Weight loss rate of the materials are measured, and the materials that are being ablated by the plasma-jets are observed by a high-speed video camera. It is found that SiC-based materials might be effective as an ablation material because of its small weight loss. From the high-speed video camera images, it is considered that the SiC-based materials could suppress the increase in the weight loss rate, because the materials melt and its surfaces are covered with the liquefied substance due to the heat of high-temperature plasma-jets.
