抄録

The purpose of this research is to establish the measurement technique with PIV for Super-fluid Helium (Helium II). Liquid Helium is widely used, such as in Superconducting magnet and Particle accelerator as a coolant. However, the mechanism of Super-fluidity is not clear, and the measurement techniques are not established. In PIV measurement, although the tracer particles must flow with target liquid, the lack of viscosity occurs at Super-fluid part of Helium makes this difficult. In this study, we try to measure the behavior of thermal counter flow. In convection of Liquid Helium, normal-fluid part and super-fluid part moves in the opposite direction each other. The tracer particles are moved by normal fluid, then we can obtain the Super-fluid Helium behavior indirectly by use this property. Base on our measurements, we have considered about the effective condition of PIV and have analyzed behavior of Helium II.
