- 2P2-D32 A Generation Method for Aerial Video Metadata for Disaster Information Database

Aerial videos are effective to obtain the situation of a stricken area at disaster outbreak. It takes, however, much time and cost to analyze video contents for finding out the scene in which the damage of a watching point is confirmed. We have been developing a metadata generation method in which a necessary point in an aerial video is retrieved quickly. We use aerial videos associated with moving camera data of positions and orientations. The position data sequence and the orientation data sequence are respectively converted into a NURBS curve for noise reduction and data compression. The camera moving trace represented by the NURBS curves is used for visible judgment of the watching point. We examined the proposed method with a hand-moving camera instead of aerial camera. A future plan is to apply the method to aerial video recorded by an unmanned helicopter.
