抄録

Although there is ample anecdotal evidence of teacher development through narrative, theoretical explanations of its process are relatively unexplored. This study attempts to explain the process by introducing concepts gained in neuroscience and media studies. Concepts examined include those of unconsciousness, self-consciousness, verbalization, and written language. Narrative is concluded as a creation of an opportunity for self-observation and self-understanding, which are essential for teacher development.
