Abstract
2011年3月6〜10日に米国ロサンゼルスにて開催されたOFC/NFOEC2011における光伝送システムに関する技術動向について報告する。ポスト100Gに向けた大容量、長距離伝送のための様々な新規技術の提案、実証が進み、1本のファイバで100 Tbit/sを超える超大容量伝送実験が報告され、多数の注目を集めた。また、シングルモードファイバにおける伝送容量限界の克服に向けて、マルチコアファイバ、マルチモードファイバを用いた空間多重伝送の検討も活発化している。
OFC/NFOEC 2011 was held in Los Angeles, CA during March 6 to 10. This report describes technical topics on optical transmission systems. Various novel techniques were proposed and demonstrated toward post-100G large-capacity and long-distance transmission. Over-100 Tbit/s transmission experiments were reported for the first time, and attracted much attentions. Moreover, Notable progress were made in space-division multiplexed transmission employing multi-core fibers or multi-mode fibers.
