抄録

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the body load of the wheelchair users on the various road conditions. To verify practical effectiveness of the slope to horizontal conversion coefficient as the index of body load, we measured the oxygen uptake and the wheelchair driving force on the ascending and descending slope course and the equivalent distance level course that is estimated by the conversion coefficient As a result, the oxygen cost index of the slope course and the equivalent level course using the conversion coefficient is almost corresponding, and it means effectiveness of the index. However, it was suggested that we should consider the total energy cost during entire wheelchair running and the influence of fatigue.
