抄録

This study is the possibility of pseudoelastic behaviors on low carbon steels by heat treatments. The break tests are conducted and the stress-strain curves obtained for quenched, tempered, annealed and as received specimens and those constitutive relations are compared with those of shape memory alloys. Furthermore, the microstructures and fracture surfaces were observed for checking effects of the heat treatments. By specific heat treatment the low carbon steel exhibited the Luders band on the curve but no pseudoelasticity in this case.
