近年,ユーザが選択可能な無線通信ネットワークの数と種類は増えており,時間や場所を問わずネットワークサービスを利用できるようになった.中でも無線LANは現在最も普及している無線通信の一つである.しかし,無線LANの標準的なアクセス制御方式は,すべての端末に平等に通信帯域を割り当てるため,ユーザは自身の要求を満足する通信が行えるとは限らない.そこで我々は,対応している端末同士で協力し帯域を交換することで,ユーザの要求を満たせる可能性を高める方式を提案する.また提案システムをアプリケーションソフトウェアとして実装し,無線LANにおいて協調帯域利用が実現可能であることを示す.

In this paper, we discuss a cooperation framework applicable for wireless local area networks (WLANs), called TXOP (transmission opportunity) Exchange, in which only stations (STAs) participating in TXOP Exchange cooperatively use their available bandwidth to satisfy their required throughputs. TXOP Exchange enables flexible bandwidth exchange between compliant STAs without any effect on the legacy access point and legacy STAs. We evaluate the effectiveness of our mechanism through simulations and demonstrate a real implementation of TXOP exchange as application software.
