Successful treatment outcomes have been reported for VRF (vertical root fracture) reconstruction with adhesive resin cement. However, the evaluation of fracture resistances and durability of VRF treated teeth are still unclear. The aim of this in vitro study was to examine the influence of cyclic impact loading on fracture resistance of roots with vertical fracture and reattached fragments. The root fragments were reattached using 4-META/MMA-TBB adhesive resin cement. The fracture resistances of restored teeth were evaluated after the cyclic impact loading. The results indicated that the fracture resistances and durability of VRF treated teeth were comparable with the intact teeth.
