Two experiments were conducted to examine the effectiveness of the fertilizer. Experiment 1: Test on the suppression of the bolting of spinach grown under low light condition The seedlings at 4-leaf stage were transplanted in the pot (playmobil, Lechuza) with the provided medium and gravel, constantly supplied with the nutrient solution (N:P:K=5:10:5), and grown under fluorescent light (about 10,000 lx) at 25℃ for 39 days. The plants were sprayed with the 3,000-fold diluted solutions of PKS (100L/10a) once a week from 8 days after the transplanting. The bolting rate decreased and the scape length was shortened with PKS treatment. Experiment 2: Test on the suppression of the bolting of spinach grown in the summer The seeds (cv.Lead) were seeded in the red soil field applied with the chemical fertilizer (N:P:K=5:5:5 kg/10a) and grown for 34 days. The plants were screened with the shade sheet (shading ratio:31%) from 11 to 15, from 27 to 33 days after the seeding. The plants were sprayed with the 5,000 or 3,000-fold diluted solutions of PKS (100L/10a) once a week from 14 days after the seeding. Bolting, etiolated growth and low SPAD value of spinach plants was improved by PKS treatment. These experiments show that the treatment with PKS suppressed the spinach bolting under low light condition and increased its commercial quality.
