The microstructure and mechanical properties of dental-cast Co-33Cr-(0-0.4)N and Co-33Cr-(3-6.6)Mo-0.3N alloys were investigated, and effects of the N and Mo content on the microstructure and mechanical properties were discussed in order to develop ductile Co-Cr-Mo alloys without Ni addition for dental applications. The proof strength and elongation of the Co-33Cr-5Mo-(0.3-0.4)N and Co-33Cr-(4-6.6)Mo-0.3N alloys satisfied with type 5 criterion in IS022674; thus, these alloys are promising use in dental materials.
