• Prosthodontic Treatment Based on Case Classification in Prosthetic Dental Therapy : A Clinical Report

抄録

A 66-year-old woman came to our clinic complaining of upper denture maladaptation. After tooth extraction, the missing upper free-end was replaced using a removable partial denture with a clasp. The lower partially edentulous was replaced using a fixed partial denture. Miyaji's classification was employed in order to make the treatment plan and evaluate the effect of the treatment. When the prosthetic therapy was completed, the patient's oral condition was located at the second stage in Miyaji's classification. After 2 years, a root fracture occurred at the posterior support area, and the classification stage changed from stage 2 to stage 3 in Miyaji's classification. Therefore, we selected a cone crown telescopic denture containing all upper anterior teeth as abutment teeth. This case shows the usefulness of case classification to make an appropriate treatment plan and to obtain patient satisfaction.
