Abstract
末梢神経は優れた自己再生能を有する組織である。手外科医はその再生能を利用して障害された上肢機能を再建しているが、神経再生機序の詳細は未解明なものが多い。我々の研究室では臨床で得た興味深い知見を基礎的研究に発展させ、新たな治療法の開発へ繋げることを目指してきた。今回は神経交叉縫合後に見られる脊髄運動ニューロンに対する中枢神経の可塑的変化に関する研究と新しい末梢神経欠損間隙の治療法の開発に関する研究を紹介する。
The peripheral nervous system has an intrinsic ability for repair and regeneration, but the mechanism has not elucidated in detail. Clinical researchers sometimes hit on an idea from clinical findings and project basic research aiming at producing new treatment. I will present the results of our two researches. One is the experiment about the plasticity in central nervous system in cat intercostal-musculocutaneus nerve transfer model. The other is about our original treatment strategy; gradual nerve stump lengthening. This method is a novel regeneration technique that produces the necessary tissue to fill the defect through the mechanical stress of traction; distraction neurogenesis in vivo.
