We compared the viability of cells treated with 12 commercial dental adhesives based on the IC50 value on the cell recovery test. The viability of 3 cell types (2 cell lines (Bulb c/3T3 and ES-D3) and a primary cell culture derived from the mouse uterus) were compared. The order of the IC50 value varied among the 3 cell types. Regarding the main component, the IC50 value was lower in products containing Bis-GMA as the main component than in those containing MMA and UDMA. Since the difference in the cytotoxicity between ES and mature cells is related to the prediction of embryotoxicity, further investigation is necessary.
