Abstract

2012 年 10 月 29 日から 11 月 2 日にかけて，奈良新公会堂にて開催された国際会議 『ACM Multimedia 2012』 について報告する． ACM Multimedia は ACM SIGMM のフラッグシップ会議であり，マルチメディア分野最高峰に位置づけられる権威ある国際会議である．質の高い研究発表はもちろんのこと，分野の展開を探る数々のイベントが催された．初の日本開催となった今年は折しも開催 20 周年であり，これを記念する特別イベントも盛り込まれ大変な盛況となった．本報告では，これら会議の様子，研究発表動向，イベントの様子について紹介する．We report ACM Multimedia 2012, an international conference on multimedia which was held in Nara, Japan, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, 2012. As the flagship conference of ACM SIGMM, ACM Multimedia 2012 is broadly recognized as the most prestigious conference in the multimedia area. It was the first ACM Multimedia hosted in Japan, and partly because its 20th anniversary year of this conference, there was a lot of special events for exploring future prospects and directions of this area as well as many high-quality research presentations. In this report, we briefly review the activities and research trends at the conference.
