Mitsuko is a woman seeking within herself something that she could believe in. However, she is tormented because she is unable to find it. She suffered from an empty feeling inside her. This may be the reason why she tempted Otsu, or she simply wanted to be distracted from that emptiness. It is also possible that she wanted to fill that void with something she had seen in Otsu. She toyed with him then discarded him. However, strangely, she could not forget him. In this report, I will examine Mitsukos journey to India in pursuit of Otsu. While on this trip, she discovered the Hindu Goddess Chamunda. Chamunda is a goddess whose figure of a loving mother in torment. Consequently, Mitsuko is able to fill that emptiness and open her heart to others. In the Ganges River, of her own will, she takes a bath and realizes that she is a member of the group who prays for salvation. She embraces eternity at the point of the river. Through this experience, the feeling of emptiness in her heart is almost healed. However, at that time, as a result of trying to protect the people, Otsu meets with an accident and is taken to the hospital. Otsu led his life in accordance to Jesus, he served the poor. Mistuko believes that Otsu will die and she is lamented that he has lived his life in vain. Mitsuko will continue to think about the life of Otsu from then on.And, she will discover the existence of Jesus within herself. And, she will discover the existence of Jesus within herself. Then, as it had been with Otsu, Mitsuko will realize that Jesus had been living in her heart.
