This study investigated the mechanical properties of three commercially available beta-titanium orthodontic wires using static bending test and bending fatigue test. Nominal compositions determined by X-ray fluorescence were Ti-14Mo-6Zr-5Sn for TMA, Ti-13Mo-6Zr-5Sn for Resolve and Ti-36Nb-3Zr-3Ta for Gummetal. Mechanical properties obtained by static bending test for three beta-titanium wires varied (Elastic modulus: 44.5 GPa to 71.8GPa; Bend strength: 1.2 GPa to 1.7 GPa). Fatigue limit of Resolve (439 MPa) was greater value compared to that with other wires (360 MPa for TMA; 308 MPa for Gummetal). Knee points obtained from three wires was between 10^4〜10^5 (Nf).
