The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility to use poly-ethoxylated bis-phenol A dimethacrylate monomers (2,2-bis[4-(methacryloxypolyethoxy)phenyl]propane, bis-MEPP)as base monomers of composite resin. For this purpose, the viscosity behavior of monomers and some mechanical properties oftheir light cured polymers with respect to the number of ethoxy groups were measured. The viscosities of experimental monomers were lower than the control, i.e. bis-GMA-TEGDMA 1:1 mixture. The compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and bending strength of their polymers decreased with the increase of the number of ethoxy groups. From these result, bis-MEPPs are promising monomers as base monomers of dental composite resin.
