A coprecipitation method using iron hydroxide is used as a method to remove arsenic acid from water solution into iron hydroxide. The form of arsenic in water solution is arsenious acid (As(III)) or arsenic acid (As(V)). As(III) is difficult to remove using the coprecipitation method. On the otherhand, As(V) is easy to remove using the coprecipitation method. Therefore it is necessary to oxidize arsenic from As(III) to As(V). In this study, we applied ultrasound irradiation to oxidize As(III) in sulfuric acid solution. After ultrasound irradiation, As(V) concentration in the solution was measured by the colorimetric method. The oxidation ratio from As(III) to As(V) was calculated using these results. As a result, oxidation ratio was changed by the initial values of pH. The lower value of pH showed higher ratio of oxidation from As(III) to As(V). It is considered that the oxidation ratio from As(III) to As(V) increased because H^+ amount in the solution was increased with decrease in pH value.
