質問応答（QA）とは，自然文で入力された質問に対して適切な回答を提示する処理である．本論文は，行動や手順を問う質問に回答するHow型QAを探求する．How型QAに関する既存の手法は，入力された質問を用いて文書集合を検索し，検索された文書群から述語項関係を行動表現として抽出し，適切な行動表現や回答候補の文章が上位になるようスコアを計算する．本論文は既存手法のスコア計算における問題を解決するため，情報検索の手法を応用する．具体的には，行動表現に加えて単語や複合語を索引語に組み合わせる点，情報検索の重み付け手法であるIDFを行動表現のスコア計算に応用する点，回答候補となる文章のスコア計算に擬似適合性フィードバックを応用する点の3つを提案する．評価実験によって提案手法の有効性を示す．

Question answering (QA) is the process for automatically presenting an appropriate answer related to a natural language question. In this paper, we explore How-type QA associated with actions and procedures. An existing method for How-type QA searches a document collection for documents related to a question, extracts predicate-argument relations as answer candidates, computes the score for each answer candidate, and sorts the candidates according to the score in descending order. To resolve problems in the existing QA method, we apply techniques for information retrieval. In practice, we propose the following three methods: combining words and compound words with predicate-argument relations, applying the inverse document frequency to weighting predicate-argument relations, and applying the pseudo-relevance feedback to reranking answer candidates. We show the effectiveness of each proposed method experimentally.
