抄録

This paper evaluated the potential of the woody biomass in Hokkaido as a natural energy resource. It is described the required conditions in order to promote energy conversion to the woody biomass fuel with illustrations in Europe where the woody biomass fuel has spread widely. We performed questionnaires to 212 cities, towns and villages and the sawmills in Hokkaido, and surveyed awareness related to availment of the woody biomass and estimated amount that could be processed to the woody pellets.
