抄録

The aim of this study is to develop an air conditioning system in which dehumidification is separated from the cooling process. Wet air is dehumidified by honeycomb desiccant materials. The adsorbed vapor is then desorbed by using low temperature exhaust heat obtained from thermal energy storage. The mass transfer coefficient of a honeycomb desiccant material is estimated at 1.0x10^<-5> m/s by an experiment. It is found that a two-step desiccant process enables to decrease the temperature of regeneration to 53 ℃, whereas a single desiccant process needs the temperature of 90 ℃. The use of the exhaust heat can lead to reduction of energy consumption for regeneration about 26 % in such a dehumidification system.
