抄録

The multicellular structure of spheroid can be used as an in vitro model for the 3D cellular construct in tissue engineering. Since oxygen is one of the most important factors for cell survival and growth, oxygen deprivation (hypoxia) induces necrotic cell death in the center of the spheroid. We have developed an oxygen-permeable spheroid culture device using polydimethylsiloxane to prevent oxygen deprivation of the spheroid. In this study, we investigated the influence of oxygen supply on the cell growth, the viability, and the differentiation of hepatoma cell spheroid and mesenchymal stem cell spheroid.
