抄録

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the incorporated amounts of hydrophilic resin components and the specimen storage conditions on fracture toughness(K_<IC>) of experimental glass ionomer cement for filling(GIC). The experimental GICs were prepared by adding HEMA/Poly-HEMA to the powder of a commercial GIC(Fuji Ionomer Type II) (〜40%). The specimens were stored in air or water for 24 hours and then, the K_<IC> values of the experimental cements were determined. The results suggested that the K_<IC> values were affected by the presence of water during storage rather than the incorporated amounts of resin components.
