Broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS) measurements were performed on 1 : 1 : 1 myoglobin–glycerol–water in a frequency range of 10 mHz – 10 MHz at temperatures between 273K and 113K. Three relaxation processes were observed for the mixture with dialized myoglobin and two relaxation processes were observed for the mixture with non - dialized myoglobin. The relaxation times of the three processes being 100s at approximately 126K, 160K, and 183K for dialyzed myoglobin mixture, and those of the two processes being 100s at 127K and 164K for non dialyzed myoglobin mixture The process I at the highest frequency is due to uncrystallized water. The process II, which is an asymmetric relaxation of hydrated glycerol, was observed at frequency lower than the process I. For the relaxation process III at lower frequency side of the process II was observed. The process III can be interpreted to be due to the cooperative motion of hydrated myoglobin, and it is much different from the several small relaxation processes observed by Swenson et. al. [J. Phys, Condens, Matter, 19 (2007) 205109]. The process III was not observed for non - dialyzed myoglobin mixture, since the process III seems to be masked by the electrode polarization and contribution of dc conductivity.
