抄録

The purpose of this research is to propose a simpler method of evaluating adhesive strength for hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating using four-points bending test with a slit coated specimen. AE signals were recorded and delamination behavier from the edges of HAp coating was observed during four-points bending test in order to specify delamination points. AE signals was generated at the time of delamiations and the AE signal corresponded at the beginning periods of cumulative AE count, not the end period when a conventional AE method for bending strength considered the point as cracking/delaminations. Furthermore, AE signal in delaminations belonged to higher frequency range compared with the signals from only Ti substrates or cracking in HAp coating. Consequently, AE method successfully detected the beginning point of delaminations, which is important in discussing the interface strength of HAp coating layer.
