抄録

The Multi-stakeholder Forum on Social Responsibility for a Sustainable Future, established in 2009, is a new framework of Multi-stakeholder Processes (MSPs) in Japan. All major stakeholders participate in the roundtable based on equitable representation, and aim to finding solutions to problems that cannot be solved by the government alone. They discuss social issues and create projects, such as formulating educational principles and organizing several region roundtables. However, there have been problems expanding it to solve social issues and collaborate on building up a sustainable society. Therefore, I studied the forum using surveying and interviewing participants. The study revealed that the forum is the result of citizen participation on solving social issues. Its expansion depends on citizens' power to take the initiative among stakeholders.
