抄録

To develop a novel cavity disinfectant that can be used for direct/indirect restorations or core build-up with no influences on bonding ability of adhesives, an experimental cavity disinfectant containing the antibacterial monomer MDPB was prepared. Evaluation using the dentin block infected with Streptococcus mutans revealed that complete killing of bacteria in dentinal tubules was possible by application of the experimental disinfectant. No adverse effects on bonding of rein luting cements to enamel or dentin were observed by application of the experimental disinfectant, while commercial chlorhexidine-containing disinfectant reduced the bond strengths of self-adhesive cements to dentin.
