抄録

In order to establish a quantitative estimation method for characteristics observed in epileptic waves, we propose using the Duffing oscillation model parameters, which is a non-linear mathematical model. We used a sweep window for time series data of a brainwave obtained from a rat with induced epilepsy, and got frequency bands restricted data. Duffing oscillation is fitted to the time series of a brainwave based on the least square method and the model parameters expressing characteristics of the brainwave were determined. The driving force of the Duffing oscillation is expressed as two predominant frequencies contained in a brainwave. In order to examine the time of generating epileptic waves and the change of brainwave characteristics, we study the change of model parameters. When epilepsy occurs, we found that the amount of the parameters related to "conservation", "dissipation" and "input quantities" increase. On the other hand, the parameter value corresponding to non-linearity tends to decrease. Finally, we can conclude that it is possible to quantitatively estimate the generating epileptic waves.
