This study investigates the orbital change of space debris in the equatorial orbit by an electrostatically charged satellite, which experiences a Lorentz force generated by interacting the geomagnetic field. The linearized equation of motion for the altitude variation is derived, and the altitude motion is found to vary greatly with resonance by controlling the charge amount appropriately. The optimal control of the charge amount is also formulated by incorporating boundary conditions into a cost function using the Lagrange multiplier method. The analytical control is validated numerically and is evaluated by comparison with the resonance method.
