Recently, polymer materials are used as optical devices. In general, they have large wavelength dispersion of birefringence, so that it is necessary to obtain such characteristic of materials used in wide-band wavelength application. There are several methods to measure wavelength dispersion of birefringence. As one of these methods needs changing multiple light sources during measurement, it takes long time to complete measurement. In this paper, we propose a new method of spectroscopic birefringence measurement using double rotating polarization devices, white light source and spectrometer. We measured an optical film using proposed method and accuracy of measurement result was confirmed by comparing with the result by known method.
