A method is proposed to treat the topological change for the elastic structure and the geometrical change for the structural components a designer drafts in defined three-dimensional solution space The topological aspect is considered by the introduction of the region with no rigidity in the space The geometrical change is given as the interval number of the dimension Under the concept, the topological and geometrical sets of design solution that satisfy simultaneously plural requirements for the structure, like strength increase, weight reduction and so on, are obtained Non-monotonous relation between design parameters and requirements can be also treated The effectiveness of the method is shown by example analyses
