BepiColombo has been defined as the ESA-JAXA joint mission to Mercury. The baseline mission consists of two spacecraft: the Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO). The two orbiters and other modules are combined into one system (MCS: Mercury Cruise System) and will be launched by one Ariane5 in 2016 from Kourou. The MMO is now under development at the ISAS, Japan. In 2015 the MMO is shipped to the ESTEC, the Netherlands and assembled into the MCS configuration. In 2016, the MCS is shipped to the European Space Port in Kourou, Frenchi Guiana. After launch the on-orbit operation is mainly conducted at the ESOC, Germany. The ground systems for the MMO checkout are needed at each location above and the development is ongoing. This paper reports the design and the development status of the MMO ground systems.
