- 1P1-K06 Single motor-driven sensor/positioner system with controllable coverage range of 3D scanning(3D Measurement/Sensor Fusion)

In this paper, we present the design and realization of a single motor-driven 3D sensor/positioner system, allowing 2D range sensors to measure the distance to objects or cameras to take pictures their surrounding in all directions of 3D space. Specifically, based on a simple screw-link mechanism, the proposed positioner features extended visibility along the axis of the screw as well as hemisphere scanning. The implementation details are explained, and the operation mechanism of the positioner is verified through experiments.
