- J054041 Relationship between dissolution characteristics of CO2 bubble swarms and flow structures in a bubble column reactor
抄録
Bubbly flows applied in industrial plants have various scales and fluctuations in time and space. An elucidation of flow structures, which are especially large scale, is essential for highly efficient gas absorption. The main purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between the liquid motion and bubble swarm motion and the dissolved CO_2 concentration transportation in a bubble column. For this particular purpose, we simultaneously measured liquid-phase velocities, time-series void fractions and local CO_2 concentrations by using a Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) and a newly developed optical fiber probe (POFP). We calculated the spatial scale of liquid motions, bubble swarms and dissolved CO_2 concentration transportation based on the thinking of the integral length scale, and the radial profile of the average void fraction and liquid-phase velocity. As a result, the spatial scale of the bubble swarms and liquid phase motions became small toward the upper zone of the bubble column. Furthermore, the radial profile of the average void fraction and liquid-phase velocity has the similar distribution at three zones (z = 300mm, 700mm, 1200mm) in the bubble column.
