The purposes of this paper were to develop an instrument for the student evaluation of the instructional effectiveness in physical education, and to examine the availability of the instrument by actually using it for the evaluation of the instructions. The investigations to develop the instrument were done twice in May and July, 1984. The subjects were 1288 students of junior high school in Nara Prefecture. Main results were as follows. 1) On the basis of the results reported in our previous studies, a form for student evaluation of the instructional effectiveness was developed of the 30 items divided into four factors; "Pleasure" (8 items), "Outcome" (12 items), "Relatioship of Class Mate" (5 items) and "Teacher" (5 items). 2) The standards to evaluate the effectiveness of the instruction were made by measuring the magnitude of the change in the attitude score concerning the items of the form among a school term (about four months). 3) The availability of the instrument was clarified by actually using it for the evaluation of the instructions. Especially, it could well evaluate to what degree the objectives of the instruction had been achieved, because the items of "Pleasure" and "Outcome" were equivalent to the objectives of physical education. And also, through analyzing the attitude scores of the items in "Teacher" Factor, we could get the effective informations to reconsider how to teach and hale attitude to the instruction. 4) It was pointed out that there was a couple of problem to reform in this instrument.
