中学校における「ものづくり教材」は,過去からのものを含め,その数は膨大なものとなっている。時代の変化とともに習得すべき技術・技能も変化し,過去の教材となってしまったものもあるが,基礎・基本の技術については大切にされなければならないと考える。本研究は,導入されることが少なくなった旋削加工に焦点をあて,中学生に興味・関心を持たせられるような教材を開発することを目的とした。シンプルでありながら,かつ実用的であり,加工方法の多くを体験できることから「手作りボールペン」を教材化し実践を行った。

We have developed the making of the ball-point pen as a teaching material. In general, it is necessary to use the lathe for cutting the edge of the workpiece round. However, there are some junior high schools with the lathe in recent years. Then, we solved this problem by developing a special Jig ;cutting the edge of the workpiece round using a drilling machine,centering punch,hole drilling,thread cutting die,screwtap. In addition we tried the ebonite resin for the material. As a result, we were able to develop the teaching material of almost the same quality as the marketed commodity.
