抄録

Apparently the languages and cultures of‘the insect’s viewpoint’in which the speaker moves in the space like insects which are always care of the environment are not compatible with the concept of independence. At the beginning of Meiji era Yukichi Fukuzawa advised us to have the spirit of independence to construct the powerful nation that could compete with the European and American Great Powers. Nevertheless we must recognize that the reality is far from the ideal stated by Fukuzawa when we see,for instance, the attitude of the younger generation who desire to belong to the big and stable companies and that of the government that tends to submit the superpower. Indonesia became an independent country in 1945 based on the national motto of the Panca Sila which declared Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa or the One Supreme God. But Indonesian, the national language, and Javanese, the language of the major ethnic group in Indonesia, are basically languages of ‘the insect’s viewpoint’. Indonesia also is still far from the ideal. Thus both the Japanese and Indonesian will be confronted with lots of difficulties to become independent. In spite of the difficulties both peoples are able to construct the better and happier nations. Since their independence both peoples have attempted to connect their traditional languages and cultures with those of “the God’s viewpoint”in which the speaker sets himself/herself at the high position from which he/she can watch himself/herself and the hearers. Now they have both viewpoints. Here we find the big capabilities in both languages and cultures. While the God’s viewpoint will going on cultivating the spirit of independence and international communication on the one hand,the insect’s viewpoint will play a big part in the formation of the new civilization which must be replaced with the contemporary civilization led by the languages and cultures of ‘the God’s viewpoint’that is coming to deadlock now on the other hand.
