Recently number of reinforced earth walls had problems such as cracking on the facing wall, breakage of connection pins in the modular block, differential settlement on the foundation and collapsing facing wall. This paper describes the recent application and design for both panel type and modular block type faced reinforced walls. The failure case histories of reinforced earth wall during the extreme rainfall are also presented.
