研究の概要(和文)：近年、地域経済の衰退が著しい。地域経済の基盤となる地域産業が競争力を失ったからである。農林水産業を含む地域産業といえども、ボーダーレスな経済のもとでは、グローバルな競争力が不可欠である。先進国には強い競争力を持つ地域産業が形成されている事例が少なく ない。そうした産業は農林水産業や製造業であっても、科学を基礎として経営力を駆使している。イノベーショ ンを継続的に生み出す仕組みが組み込まれなくてはなら ないので、地域における人材育成や学習が重要な役割を果たす。

研究の概要(英文)：In recent years, a decline of regional economy is remarkable. It is because the local industries used as the base of regional economy have lost competitive power. Also although it is called the local industries including agriculture-and-forestry fisheries, under borderless world economy, global competitive power is indispensable. Advanced nations do have many examples in which local industries with strong competitive power are formed. Even if such industries are agriculture- and-forestry fisheries and the manufacturing industry, they are making full use of management power on the basis of science. Since the economic structure which carries out innovation continuously must be built in, the personnel training and research in the locals play an important role.
