温州の産業集積の種差的特徴は民営企業が主体であることではなく, 環境の変化に敏感に対応して個々の企業が事業内容を自発的に転換し, その結果, 産業集積の多様性が深まるところにある。突然変異的にある産業が生まれ, それが環境に適応しながら形を変える温州の産業発展プロセスは生物進化の過程とよく似ている。それは, 生物の個体が遺伝情報を複製して新たな個体を生み出すのと同様に, 温州でも既存企業からの技術の複製によって企業が増殖するからである。 The distinguishing characteristic of Wenzhou's industrial agglomeration is not found in the privately owned businesses as a primary driving force, yet each individual company transformed its business operations voluntarily in response to a quickly changing environment, thus deepening the diversity of the city's industrial agglomeration. The process of industrial development in Wenzhou, wherein industries mutationally develop, which transform themselves to adapt to the environment, resembles that of biological evolution. Similar to an organism that duplicates genetic information to reproduce a new organism, companies in Wenzhou copy technology from existing companies to multiply.
