In Philippines there are women, who are from Okinawa Prefecture and married civilian employees of the U. S. Forces after World War II. The history reported the first emigrants to Baguio from Okinawa were the laborers who worked for the road construction. Since then emigrants had increased in number to work at abaca plantation in Davao. Philippine had approved “Okinawa" on account of the historical background. After World War II,women from Okinawa living in Philippines are called “Okinawa Women", distinguished from Japanese women. After the Okinawa' War, as they had to survive despite a social state of confusion or losing their relatives, they got jobs at the American Base. They have been living in Baguio, Manila, Negros Oriental, Leyte, Cebu, Davao, General Santos and other areas. There regions and islands have no geographical similarity. Okinawa emigrants are now not only in Asia countries but in South American. The history of emigrants is being solved by each town and city office in Okinawa Prefecture, nevertheless “Okinawa Women" is not referred yet. Their background would help us think over the realities after the Okinawa' War.
