本稿の目的は,拡張された環境における生活者たる子どもたちが,拡張された環境において成立させる経験をもとにして学習する際に,経験範囲や経験対象ばかりではなく,子どもたちが獲得する経験の密度が重要であることを明らかにすることである。本稿においては次の二つの前提に立っている。第一に,子どもの経験は均質ではなく,環境や主体の状況によってその密度が異なるという前提である。第二に,子どもの経験対象となる環境は一定範囲で一定時間(学習単元の開始時と終了時においてもそうである)不変であるのではなくて,変成したり拡張したりするものであるという前提である。一義的には,子どもが日常生活を送り,あるいは子どもが日常的な学習活動を送る生活空間が,まず子どもの環境となる。その環境において,子どもは日常的に経験を積み重ねていく。この日常的な経験を提供する機会,もしくは空間が,筆者の言うところの郷土である。平成24年度より筆者は,郷土という存在を子どもが日常生活を営む生活空間と位置づけた上で,その郷土に所在しあるいは郷土において発生する諸事物・諸現象を教材として取り上げ,それら郷土教材の教育的機能に着目し,その教育的機能を最大限に発揮しうる郷土教育モデルを構築し提案する研究に取り組んでいる。本研究は,いわゆる教科学習の枠内に限定されたり,教科教育を副次的に支援するものと位置づけられたりするものではない。もっと広義に,子どもの成長に関わる一切の教育現象を包括的に考察しうる教育機能の契機が郷土に存在し,郷土教育を全体として子どもの人間形成機能を担うものとして位置づけたアプローチをおこないたいと考えている。最終的には,郷土に固有な教材の発見もしくは開発と,その主教材に関わって生じる学習活動を,個々の児童の特性を考慮した上で学習単元として構想することによって,授業のモデルプランを提案することに至ると位置づけている。授業の構想は具体的事例によって異なるばかりではなく,学習主体の条件によって経験の密度が異なるという考え方を採用するため,郷土教育によって何が学べるのかということではなく,郷土教育はいかに取り運ぶことができるのか,いかに学ぶことができるのかという方法的アプローチに重点を置きたいと考えている。

A purpose of this report is to make clear that experience density is importat to the growth of children. Experience density is important to the learning of children as well as an experience range and an experience object. Primarily the experience of the child is not homogeneous, and density changes in the situation of environment and the main constituent. Second the environment of the child performs anamorphism not immutability and is expanded. At first there is everyday life space in the environment for children. Children get experience in environment. The environment contains all educational opportunities about growth of the child. In this report, the environment of children places it as a thing taking the human being formation of the child as the entirety. I excavate the teaching materials from the environment that is familiar to children and envision learning activity to be concerned with the main teaching materials and exhibit the model of the unit of study that considered the personality of children. Because density of the experience varies according to the condition of the child, I perform the approach that put an important point on the side called the method of the education than contents of the education.
