ダイナミック・システムズ・アプローチ(DSA)は,時間の経過にともなって変化するシステムを記述し,発達経路の多様性(diversity)を説明する。DSAは従来,乳児期の運動発達に適用されてきたが,発達経路の多様性の大きい青年期や成人期にも適していると思われる。DSAはアイデンティティの発達といった研究にどう適用できるのだろうか。本稿では,まず私の問題関心を示し,次にSaskia KunnenのDSAの方法を紹介する。Kunnenは発達の個別の軌跡を分析していくことで変数間の反復する関係を捉えていくことの重要性を強調している。DSAは個人間差異と個人内変動を等閑視できないという仮定に立った上で個人の独自な発達の過程を捉えることができる。実際にわが国でDSAを使って縦断研究を分析してみることで検証してみたい。

Dynamic systems approach (DSA) is to describe changing systems over time and explain the diversity of developmental trajectories. This may be suitable to the research on identity development in adolescence and adulthood as well as motor function in infant that has been studied using DSA. This article describes my interest in dynamic systems approach and illustrates the methodology advocated by Saskia Kunnen. She emphasizes that DSA looks at an individual's trajectory to catch irritating relationship between the variables. This is based on the assumption that inter-individual differences do not mean intra-individual variability to understand a way of individual development. The further study is to analyse the data of longitudinal study conducted in Japan using DSA.
