抄録

Linoleic acid on rutile TiO2 (001) surface and linoleic acid dispersed with p-25 powder were exposed to UV light and were studied by optical microscope, FT-IR and 1H-NMR. After exposure to UV light, something has visually happened to linoleic acid. From the results of FT-IR and 1H-NMR, -CH=CH- bond was found to be lost because hydrogen next to this bond has almost disappeared. However, the difference between the photocatalytic degradation of -CH=CH- and natural oxidation of linoleic acid was small under FT-IR and 1H-NMR. It was also found that oxygen is needed when linoleic acid degrades by photocatalytic reaction.
